2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo and Elantra Coupe
Hyundai Gives More to its 2013 Veloster Turbo and 2013 Elantra Coupe
Both the Veloster Turbo and Elantra Coupe are distinguishing sports cars with great fuel efficiency and attractive price tags. Read below to see what Hyundai put into the newest editions of both models. Neither are at our dealership yet, but we'll keep you updated and in the meantime, browse our new Hyundai inventory here.
The 2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo
The engine in the turbo version of the Veloster received an upgrade for '13; it now has a 1.6-liter turbocharged, four-cylinder, direct-injection engine, which gets 201 hp at 6,000 rpm and 195 lb.-ft. of torque at 1,750 rpm.
As for fuel economy, the new Veloster gets up to 26 mpg in the city and 38 mph on the highway. Offered as either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic with paddle shifters, the Veloster uses a twin-scroll to provide efficiency advantages in combustion and low-engine speed.
There is sport-tuned steering for a quicker response while driving, as well as 18-inch five-spoke alloy wheels with chrome inserts. Leather seating is standard in the Veloster Turbo as is a Supervision Cluster that delivers interactive information to the driver. The Veloster Turbo starts at $21,950.
The 2013 Hyundai Elantra Coupe
The Elantra Coupe is available in two models; the base GS and more sporty SE, both are powered by a 1.8-liter, four-cylinder engine with 148 hp at 6,500 rpm and 131 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,700 rpm. Also available are either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic with Shiftronic and an Active Evo System.
There is Continuously Variable Valve Timing, which makes the Coupe more efficient and gives it 29 mpg city and 40 mpg on the highway. Optional features include an electronic push-to-start and proximity key entry.
Standard on the Elantra Coupe is a Bluetooth handsfree phone system with voice recognition, while a seven-inch touch screen navigation with rear camera is available, as well as an iPod/USB input. The Elantra Coupe SE starts at $19,745 and the GE starts at $17,445.
