Garuka Bars
Garuka Bars will be a new vendor this year at the Burlington Wine & Food Festival! They are a small, relatively new company that was first noticed by the BWFF during the Vermont Ice Wine Fest at Jay Peak in 2012.
Here's a note from the wonderful people over at Garuka who have created this great product! Make sure to check them out at the festival tomorrow - and if you don't have your tickets yet, get them here! :)
"Garuka Bars® is named after one of the few remaining mountain gorillas ranging the volcanic forests of the Virunga Massif in Rwanda. Garuka needs protection and you need all-natural energy. We’re working on both. Their bars are packed full of simple, wholesome ingredients, and a percentage of each sale goes towards gorilla conservation.
The first thing you can tell by looking at a Garuka Bar is that it’s made from real food. It’s no secret your body performs better on real food ingredients than it does artificial and synthetic ones. They’ve worked hard to perfect a formula that provides a balanced nutritional approach to energy. Garuka Bars have a balanced amount of fiber, protein, carbs, and fats. All things your body needs to perform. The lynchpin to this whole equation is the raw honey, it’s super low on the glycemic index, meaning it provides almost instant energy with no peak or crash, just consistent, long lasting, primal energy.
Based out of Montgomery Center, their bars are sold throughout Northern Vermont, and starting next week, at the Coop in Littleton, New Hampshire. Of course you can buy them online as well as find a full listing of locations at www.garukabars.com."
