Hyundai is about ready to put a fuel cell powered Tucson into "small-scale mass-production", saying that by 2015 they'll have reached roughly 1000 units, which will mostly be in Europe. After 2015 we'll start seeing the fuel cell Tucson with up to 10,000 units per year, mostly in CA and Europe.
The range on a full tank of hydrogen is 367 miles, with a tank capacity of 12 pounds of hydrogen. According to Motor Trend, who has driven a prototype of the vehicle, it's as smooth and silent as an EV (Electric Vehicle), has the same passenger space as the gasoline model, and the trunk floor is only a few inches higher.
Hyundai alongside Honda, Daimler, Nissan and Toyota, is working with local and city governments in Europe in order to get hydrogen-filling stations in place.
This is really exciting breakthrough technology! As it will take a little bit to get here, though, you should take a look at our current Hyundai Tucson inventory in the meantime ;)
Stay tuned for more info! We'll post it as we get it.
